Responsible
We have been witness/observer, absorber of knowledge, and processors of scientific awareness. There is common familiarity of terms,
such as climate change, carbon footprint, environmental injustice, environmental calamity, But what of action? We have the capacity for
responsibility and agency to live health-fully, with intention, with interconnectedness to our selves, communities, and natural
environments.
Renewable
Thinking and reaching beyond Green & Sustainable, as it is not enough to just do less harm. It is not enough to just do no further harm.
There are signs of movement recycle, re-use, reduce, and re-orient. Yet holistic ecology is to re-envision our lives and environments: Re-
new. Replenish, and Restore.
Restorative
Reconnecting with nature is one aspect of healing our selves, Healing our communities and environments involves being intelligent,
inspired, creative, and giving back. There are astounding examples:
- Building projects that actually heal previous traumas to the surrounding landscape - See Resources, Projects
- Communities reclaiming their food production and access (local organic farmers, non-profits that provide renewable resources to
low-income settings, cottage industries that green and thrive - See Resources, Non-Profits
- People as embodied examples of the potential to restore wellness and spirit - See Resources, People
We do it simply by re-introducing nature's natural intelligence for healthy living systems: cycles, flows, & balance; diversity,
connectedness, & resilience.
